York Ballon Fiesta Organisers have not published dates or a venue for the 2023 festival. We will update this page as soon possible.

York’s Hot Air Balloon Fiesta attracts over 50 brightly coloured balloons and many enthusiasts to York Racecourse through the popular 3 day event.

The festival opens at midday on Friday and closes Sunday evening.

In addition to massed flights, there are spectacular ‘night glows’; when tethered balloons illuminate the whole of the Knavesmire racecourse to music. Enjoy a lively festival atmosphere with static displays, fairground rides and food stalls. Take a look at the 2018 Balloon Fiesta video:

You can visit the balloon festival from York Naburn Lock Caravan Park, with the 42 bus service from the park entrance or Designer Outlet Park+Ride.
