York Balloon Fiesta will not take place in 2025.

The festival which was planned to take place in York at the end of September has been cancelled. Organisers say they will apply to bring the event back to York Race Course at Knavesmire in 2026.

In addition to massed flights, there are spectacular ‘night glows’; when tethered balloons illuminate the whole of the Knavesmire racecourse to music. Enjoy a lively festival atmosphere with static displays, fairground rides and food stalls. Take a look at the 2018 Balloon Fiesta video:

You can visit the balloon festival from York Naburn Lock Caravan Park, with the 42 bus service from the park entrance or Designer Outlet Park+Ride.
