Bring Your Dog Free. We’re a Dog Friendly Caravan Park

Dog owners will be delighted to hear 1 dog comes free of charge with our 2022 season tariff. Not only that, you’ll find York Naburn Lock really is a dog-friendly caravan park. Take a look at what we offer for dogs visiting the park.
- York Naburn Lock has two dog exercise areas totalling almost 10 acres.
- You’ll find convenient dog waste bins around the park.
- There are also meadow walks and footpaths along the River Ouse. In fact, you can walk your dogs all the way to York city centre.
- Dog food and doggie toys are available at our campsite convenience shop.
- Our local restaurant The Blacksmiths Arms is also a dog friendly pub.
Visiting York
- You can take your dog to York on the 42 bus service which stops at the park entrance. Find the bus timetable here.
- Dogs are also permitted on the Naburn Lock River Bus (though must be on a short lead when aboard the vessel).
Around York
- York Castle welcomes dogs and is also the starting point for Dick Turpin’s Dog Walk. Do try it.
- York Castle Museum only permits guide dogs inside.
- Dogs are welcomed at York Museum Gardens on the riverside at Lendal Bridge. Only guide dogs may be taken inside York Museum.
- Another riverside walk starts at Skeldergate Bridge (close to the Piccadilly bus-stop) along the River Ouse and into Rowntree Leisure Park. From there it’s a short distance to York Racecourse (Knavesmire) where you can let your dogs run freely (except on York racedays).
- Please note. Dogs are not permitted along York City walls.
