Naburn Lock: Dog Friendly Caravan Park

Your dogs will love a holiday at York Naburn Lock Caravan Park

We’re a truly dog friendly caravan park at York Naburn Lock. Your dog will love 10 acres of on-site dog walks as well as the riverside meadows along the River Ouse. Take a look at what we offer for dogs visiting the park:

  • Convenient doggie waste bins around the park.
  • Doggie Shower
  • Dog food and doggie toys are available at our campsite convenience shop.
  • Our local restaurant The Blacksmiths Arms is also a dog friendly pub.
  • Travelling to York with your Dog

  • Dogs can travel on the bus which stops at the park entrance. Find the bus timetable here.
  • Dogs are also permitted on the Naburn Lock River Bus (though must be on a short lead when aboard the vessel).
  • Dogs Around York City

  • York Castle welcomes dogs. It is also the starting point for Dick Turpin’s Dog Walk.
  • York Castle Museum only permits entry for guide dogs.
  • The riverside walks in York City are good for dogs, including York Museum Gardens on the riverside at Lendal Bridge. However only guide dogs are permitted in the museum building.
  • A particularly good riverside walk starts at Skeldergate Bridge (close to the Piccadilly bus-stop) along the River Ouse and into Rowntree Leisure Park. From there it’s a short distance to York’s Millenium bridge and York Racecourse (Knavesmire) where you can let your dogs run freely (except on York racedays).
  • Please note. Dogs are not permitted along York City Walls.
  • You will find a good guide to dog friendly eateries in York City here.
  • If you plan to tour other areas of Yorkshire from the park, find dog friendly attractions at The Good Dog Guide in North Yorkshire.
