Visit York's National Railway Museum from York Naburn Lock Caravan Park.

York’s National Railway Museum houses the UK’s largest collection of historic, record breaking locomotives and railway artefacts. Queen Victoria’s lavish ‘Royal Train’, truly “a palace on wheels” is also on display. Entrance to the museum is FREE and there’s almost always a workshop, tour or exhibition to make your visit to the railway museum a memorable day out.
For many, the first stop is the ‘Roundhouse’ or Great Locomotive Hall which houses the engines which became ‘champions of speed’ at the zenith of Britain’s Railways. Here you can see “Mallard” the World’s fastest steam locomotive. Mallard and others of the same class would once have sped through Naburn Railway Station on the Northern route.
