Come and enjoy Caravanning and Camping in beautiful countryside near to the wonderful City of York. York’s Naburn Lock Caravan Park is a friendly, AA 4 Gold Pennant Campsite just for adults. The park is set in beautiful countryside beside the River Ouse at Naburn Lock.

Location

We’re 4 miles from York City Centre, close enough for you to experience the excitement and attractions of York while staying in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Buses call at the park entrance and there’s a Park+Ride a few moments’ drive away. Cyclists can reach the city along the York Solar Path Cycle Trail and there’s a riverside path for walkers. In Summer, York Boats’ River Bus operates weekly.

      Caravan Park Facilities

      York Naburn Lock Caravan Park is landscaped over 13 individual fields, each surrounded by hedging. These are designed to provide the peace and privacy our adult guests appreciate. We offer a choice of fully serviced hardstanding or grass touring pitches. All have 16 amp electric hook-up.

      On-site facilities are kept spotlessly clean, with appropriate COVID19 precautions in place for guests’ safety and comfort.

          Dog owners will be delighted to hear one dog comes free of charge, while your four legged companions will appreciate our 2 large dog exercise fields.

          The River Ouse & Naburn Lock

          Naburn Lock is an impressive ship lock 200m from the park entrance. Surrounded by lock-keepers’ cottages and a cafĂ©, the lock is now used by narrowboats and leisure craft. The lock area is attracts birds and other wildlife so its central island is wonderful to picnic and watch the world go by.

              Activities Around the Park

              • River fishing is available on the caravan park’s private waters adjacent to Naburn Lock.
              • Cycling. Sustrans Route 65, the York Solar Path, passes through Naburn providing an all-season tarmac cycle trail to York City or Selby.
              • Hiking & Walking. The riverside paths lead to local villages as well as the York City trail.
              • Birdwatching.
              • Dining Out. Our local, Blacksmiths Arms, is well worth the 10-15 minute walk into Naburn village and also offers a take-away service.
